Žiedūnė Aleknaitė (born 1988) is a Lithuanian interdisciplinary artist living and working in Kėdainiai, Lithuania. Her creative practice encompasses painting, textile art, design, architectural objects, as well as educational and socially engaged art initiatives.

She began her artistic career in 2003. From the outset, her practice has developed on an interdisciplinary basis, integrating visual art, design, and applied arts. Aleknaitė holds a degree in Civil Engineering from Kaunas University of Technology, and her engineering mindset has since become an integral part of her artistic methodology.

Her painting practice is dominated by abstract works created using acrylic techniques. A distinctive feature of her artistic language is the circular (oval) canvas format, which recurs not only in her paintings but also in textile and architectural projects. Her work explores themes of inner states, memory, identity, natural cycles, and conscious consumption.

Since 2015, Žiedūnė Aleknaitė has been the director of the public institution Žiedūnė’s Integrated Arts Studio. The studio organizes painting and creative workshops for children, adults, women, and people with hearing impairments, and also develops projects focused on sustainable fashion and textile upcycling.

The painter Jūratė Bytautė

Painter Jūratė Bytautė lives and works in Tauragė, Lithuania. Since 2026, she has been collaborating with the Public Institution “Gabrielės meno galerija”, she is also a member of the Italian-Lithuanian Artists Association “Du Krantai” and a member of the Italian Cultural Confederation CONF.E.P.I. She is a painter and a restorer of paintings. She graduated from the Vilnius Academy of Arts, Kaunas branch. She has been actively participating in exhibitions since 2007. She organizes personal exhibitions in Lithuania and is an active participant in collective art exhibitions in Italy and Lithuania. The supervisor of the author’s diploma thesis was painter Professor Laima Drazdauskaitė.
Painter Jūratė Bytautė is one of the contemporary Lithuanian artists, whose work clearly reveals a sensitive relationship with color, form and inner world. Her works are characterized by emotional depth, subtle mood and a unique artistic style.
Jūratė Bytautė's paintings are often dominated by abstracted forms that balance between reality and inner vision. The artist does not shy away from experimenting with color combinations - in her canvases you can see both rich, intense tones and soft, pastel color compositions. Color here becomes not only an aesthetic tool, but also a carrier of emotion.
In the work of the painter Jūratė Bytautė, the themes of time, memory, flower themes and abstractions are relevant.
An important part of her work is the conveyance of mood and state. A certain moment of silence, concentration or even meditation is often felt in the paintings. The viewer is invited not only to observe, but also to "enter" the work, to experience it personally.
The author is not strictly limited in terms of thematics - in her works one can find both natural inspirations and reflections of inner experiences. Sometimes fragmentary figures or hints of the landscape can be seen in the compositions, but they usually remain only as references that allow for free interpretation.
Jūratė Bytautė's work is distinguished by the fact that it does not impose one clear message - on the contrary, it leaves space for the viewer's interpretation. This is art that speaks through mood, color and inner silence, inviting one to stop and listen.

The painter Areta Didžionienė

Areta Didžionienė artist statement

I am Areta Didžionienė. I was born on 19.06.19 in Tauragė. I studied at the 4th secondary school, which I graduated from in 1990. I started a family, had two sons. I still live in Tauragė.

I studied Evangelical Theology in Klaipėda part-time and completed these bachelor's studies in 2005. After that, I studied at Šiauliai University and in 2007. I defended my master's degree in economics. It was during that period that I understood who I was, where my heart was relentlessly calling me and I took up a brush in my hands. Since 2009, I have been engaged in painting. I was accepted into the Samogitian Artists' Union, and began creative and exhibition activities. In 2019, I entered the Klaipėda Faculty of Visual Design for master's studies. I completed these master's studies in 2021. Currently, I work as an artist at the Tauragė Cultural Center.

During my studies, I focused on drawing, studying symbols of Baltic culture, and mastering computer graphics skills. “The Phenomenon of the World Tree Symbol in Baltic Culture” was the topic of theoretical and creative work. This topic was the main axis around which the creative searches of two years revolved. While studying the historical legacy of my ancestors, my motivation to use the language of symbols and signs in my work grew. During my studies, I became interested in and felt a special attraction to graphic, monochrome images. When drawing, I look for different expressions of strokes, I strive for tonal changes. Most often, the smallest lines, like the thinnest threads of fabric, remain visible in my graphics, and around - clean space.

Before my studies, I was engaged in painting, and the main motif in painting was usually landscape. This motif is a tool for revealing the connection between man and nature, although the works appeared through transformations of the motif/original image. I implemented the transformation through color codes and the multi-layeredness of strokes, so the finished painting no longer spoke of the original landscape that was resisted, but turned into a reservoir of new meanings. Thus, nature plays the role of the main character in my work both then and now. I feel close to the plant motif, which is why everything in my drawings seems to grow, develop, bloom and wave. The paintings are my painterly reflections on the disappearance of boundaries and the experience of spaces through the layers of memory and time. I create works from overlapping textures, transparent planes and strokes, interpreting the lines of leaked paint as trajectories of thought, mental architecture.

The category of time, philosophical and existential questions remain important and interesting to me. The main accents of the approach are based on universal values: life and death, transience and eternity, time and space. I reflect on my place in a rapidly changing world: who I am and where I am going... Therefore, connections between different fields constantly appear in my work, especially after my studies I experiment with the principles of their operation. Thus, my creative journeys are like a tangle of aesthetic sensations, where there is a lively desire to subtly talk about being, eternity and finitude, where through empty cavities one passes into infinite space, as a connection with the inner transcendent space.

In my work in painting, graphics, objects I strive for an organic synthesis of line and form, I want to actualize historical symbols and signs of cultural heritage.

In the established "Kartanas Studio", the painter teaches the secrets of painting to children and adults. Speaking about his work, the painter states: "These are personal inspirations from nature, you understand that no work will be better than the original created by the Creator, an attempt to see light, a line, a spot or something hidden in nature and convey all this on a large-format canvas," said the author of the exhibition. At this exhibition of paintings, the author, by presenting his new paintings, introduces fans of his work, even with several painting styles: abstract painting stylistics, realistic style, compositional balance is maintained, visual rhythms, dynamic and melancholic compositions. I would like to draw attention to the following paintings by the painter Edmnudas Kartanas: “Dance in the Sea”, “Origins”, “Spawning”, “Kiss of the Sun”, “Spirit of the Moon”, “Breathing”. Edmundas Kartanas is a Lithuanian painter who combines various styles and themes in his work, reflecting the artist’s personal development. Starting with realistic landscapes and portraits, he later turned towards abstract painting. Edmundas Kartanas’ work is a versatile and deep reflection on human states, perception of nature and the world. His works invite the viewer to get involved in the story and discover their own interpretations and secrets. In summary, the stories of the painter E.Kartanas intertwine diversity: from subtle details to color, form diversity, expressive and unexpected coloristic dynamics. A common work reflects a certain state, which is expressed through a natural detail, a fragment of architecture, seeing a situation or detail from an unusual angle, emphasizing or symbolizing an everyday detail.

The painter Jurgita Baleišė

I am Jurgita from Kaunas. Although my journey into the art world began recently, creativity has always been a part of my life. In 2003, I graduated from Kaunas College with a specialization in Printing and Publishing, and spent the following decade working in advertising and book publishing. After becoming a mother, I set aside my career for ten years and shifted to smaller-scale work in nail art design. Yet I always felt that I wasn’t fulfilling my true purpose, so I decided to explore something new.

In 2024 I completed courses in liquid metal and epoxy resin surface decoration at the Vilnius Construction Training Center. This marked the beginning of my artistic path. Today, my art is a journey through the world of liquid metal, where every stroke and texture tells its own story. Through this technique, I create works that merge natural materials with abstract expression. In my paintings, metal does more than shine or reflect light - it breathes, flows and forms organic patterns and shapes.

In July 2025, I presented three of my artworks at an exhibition in Rome. Later that autumn, I participated in an event organized by Art Kaunas. I am currently continuing my studies in Interior Design at the Kaunas School of Art and Design.
